BODY WORLDS event at Union Station:
Sunday, September 18th 9am-11:30am
Students of Red Door Studios and Lacey Lewis are invited to join in a special event at the BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life* exhibition at Union Station. Artists will have the opportunity to study and draw** from the plastinates before the exhibit opens that day, with lighting raised so that it's easy to see the drawing in progress. Lewis will give an overview of the exhibit, highlighting plastinates of special interest to visual artists and will be available to answer questions throughout the event. Although the event officially concludes at 11:30 with lights dimming and easels and chairs removed in preparation for public viewing hours, admission to the exhibit is included in the event and students are welcome to stay as long as they wish.
*The BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life exhibit features plastinates of real human bodies. Not to be confused with other exhibits, specimen in this collection consist of donors who wished for their bodies to be included. Learn more here...
**Easels and a limited number of chairs will be provided. Artists must limit drawing materials to dry media such as graphite, pen, or colored pencil. Please avoid soft pastels or other media which create powder and may leave a mess. Some wet media acceptable such as ink, pen, and watercolor provided there are no open containers involved (ie no ink wells, water cups, etc) and all liquid is contained in a water-brush or similar.
