Saturday December 16th 9am-5pm
Class fee is $140 per student, materials provided
This intensive class will cover basic structure of the figure, light logic, color theory, and skin tones all while using only FOUR pigments: Red, Green, Black, and White. (Yes, the above study was done with only these colors!) With just these four paints, it's possible to give the illusion of all hues of skin tones whether more yellow, orange, pink, or cooler blues and greens.
Lacey will begin with a demonstration to walk the students through her process step-by-step, allowing for questions as she works. During student painting time, she will provide assistance and feedback with each student individually. We will aim to do two figure studies of different models to understand how to create a variety of skin tones with these basic pigments.
A lunch break will occur at approximately 1pm. Food is available nearby or can be ordered in, and a refrigerator and microwave are also available for students bringing a lunch.
All materials provided *EXCEPT* that students should bring good paint brushes if possible. Brushes are available for use at the studio, however they are not of the highest quality.
